In today's economy life as we know it is changing dynamically almost by the week. One of the biggest keys to success in almost every chiropractic office is they have multiple streams of revenue coming through there doors. During business we as chiropractors must put on multiple hats, a doctor, a business person, and a promoter. Today we put on our business hats.

If we have three different streams of revenue in our office let say vitamins, orthotics, and pillows/mattresses producing just a mere 200 a month. that works out to a average of 800 a month and an extra 9,600 a year! What could each of us do with that extra money. Take that vacation you have wanted to, pay some bills down, or even make that mortgage payment you've been trying to pay!

When in times of need work smarter not harder that how you will push through you obstacles.

Review of Chiropractic Software:

While trying to find a proper chiropractic software you need to ask yourself a couple questions:

1) What do I need out of the software?
- To take notes
- to do billing
- to check patients in

2) You must make a distinction on which type of software you need for your office....
- Do you need front of the office functions such as patient check in and note taking
- Do you need back of the office function such as billing etc
- Or do you need both

I have shuffle through dozens of different chiropractic system out there and here is what I have found:

Best back of the Office Chiropractic Software System is: Eclipse Software ( there notes are not very good though all typed with virtually no push button technology)- http://www.galactek.com/

Best Front of the Office Chiropractic Software System - Chiroquickcharts - this software does functions better and quick than system that cost ten times the amount. Plus it integrates into most billing system easily.
http://www.quick-charts.com/

Best Front and Back of the Office Chiropractic Software System - Atlas Chiropractic Systems this is the total package with great functionality. However; you will pay a pretty penny for it. http://www.atlaschirosys.com/

While looking at each of these chiropractic system I have had to consider a number of things to enable them to be the best in class. The criteria included but was not limited to:

1) Software features
2) Chiropractors and CA's ability to navigate through screens with out GPS.
3) Cost
4) The possibility of dollars saved as a result of the purchase.
5) Graphics
6) Ability to customize it to your office
7) Easy of training for staff
8) Most importanly Support!! AKA you can get a real person on the phone!

For all those on the search for chiropractic software good luck and I wish you the best in your search.
There’s no way you can provide quality service to them day after day if you are not psychologically all there and thinking negative thoughts. They will not get better as fast as they could and it puts you and your practice down.

I see this all the time or my favorite is the one were the chiropractor has the meanest person on earth working at there from desk just because they have worked there so long they become a permanent fixture. Just get rid of them their negative attitude, feelings, and personality reflectsporrly on you and your practice.

Often times we get so caught up in what we are doing we forget to take time off. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL, I learned this from a friend who runs a major company in chiropractic. Go somewhere if even just for four days. You will feel revived and work ten fold better. Try it and your life will change.

5) Stop being a jerk!! That’s right I said it. So many chiropractors become sensitive to common questions about VBA accidents, broken backs, and surgery. Often times these questions will invoke an actual anger response from a doctor. Is there one question you are so sick of answering and you are going to pop if you have to answer it one more time? Here is a great solution make a hand out and that is the last time you will ever have to answer that question again. Think about it? How do you respond then someone puts the anger vibe out to you? Exactly stop being a jerk and put a handout together, J.

Once a year we sit back and reflect on our year. During this time is when we consider the mistakes, the things we would like to take back from the previous year, the things we should have done, and the things we need to do in the next year. Many of us have personal goals and professional goals. Today I am going to challenge you to make a list of your professional goals for the year and do a couple things but that’s for later. For right now, I want to make a list of ten things you need to do to make your practice better. Here is a list of things that may get you started:

Of course we all remember we are chiropractors; however, many of us will even forget at some point what the word chiropractic means! The best advertising we can do is to educated your patients during every minute of there visit.

People love to learn new information even more than you may think. I first realized this when I had a article in a national publication. I ordered over a hundred copies for all of my patients. Well, I think every patients took one and then something else happened. Many of those same patients came back with comments and questions about "OTHER" articles. it was amazing. They actually not only read through my article but read through the whole chiropractic magazine. I never could have imagined it.

People love to read about new and interesting topics. Chiropractic is obviously of interest to them if they are coming to your office so feed them. That right if they are hungry feed them with information. I guarantee that 90% of people you give information to will read it.

Here are some quick management ideas for your office:
1) You as the chiropractor must educate them on the initial visit on what chiropractic is and how it works. This is absolutely crucial to your success.
2) The chiropractic office should have a monthly article for hand out at your office without exception.
3) In the office there should be a wall with a bunch of articles hanging for disbursement.
4) There should be a book of testimonials out and even attached to a couple seats in your office.

Often in traditional chiropractic we use the metaphor of a hose being stepped in order explain to patients if a nerve is pinched upon it can not flow right. However in todays chiropractic community chiropractors often think of this explanation as in-accurate or old fashioned. The truth be told this is a simple way to explain to a patient the basic fundamentals of chiropractic. You see the devil is in the details. Just as if when you go to the orthopedic, he does not sit you down and go into ever single fine detail nor does he give you the complex medical explanation of your condition. The reason for this is 95% of the time the patient will have no idea what the doctor is talking about. You as a chiropractor have to remember the KISS methodology when explaining chiropractic to your patients.

Keep it simple (for the) student. As a chiropractic educational facility and a chiropractic office you must align the principles you believe to be true in chiropractic with a simple method of explanation. This is the best marketing you could ever do for your practice. Take the time and develop a simple ten (or less) step explanation of chiropractic.

Chiropractic explanations to the patients need to be simple remember foot on hose, electric to wood, dam to river, stuff like that.

Chiropractic Marketing Basics:

Marketing is really much easier than you think. First of all how much money are you spending on your marketing campaign. No Offense but the truth is I have met many chiropractors in my career. During this time I noticed that we as a collective thin to small. We would rather save a nickel than spend it to make a dollar. During the marketing of your chiropractic practice you should be spending at least 10% of your net income!

Whether you are a chiropractic dr or a marketing assistant the second thing you need to do during your marketing campaign is not spend all your money in one place. Use it for three or four different advertising campaigns. The proper way to conduct a marketing assault on a community is a multi pronged one in which your are receiving new patients and getting publicity from a number of sources. You must remember that chiropractic marketing is all about hitting people a number of times and not necessarily the bigger the better.

Lastly and most important, advertising is a ongoing thing it is not something that we do one month and spot the next. We need to be consistent to be effective. Even more important is that by advertising consistently in multiple areas we get to see the most effective way to advertise. Once we figure the most effective marketing tactic we can change the other marketing methods a little to see we produce a even better marketing campaign.

Sincerely,
Marketing Masters

We have a new email feature that will email you the Marketing tips of the day! Please sign up to the left! It is 100% secure.

As many of the chiropractic dr's out there know the key to marketing in your chiropractic office is not quantity it is quality. I could spend 10,000 with not problem and get a minute amount of patients. Chiropractors of market improperly thinking if they spend they receive. I suggest in turn use what you have to get more patients and save the coin

Here is some food for thought. If you are a great Dr technique wise but are not getting new patient referrals into you office from existing patients you might have a ascetic issue. Lets go over a check lists.

1) What do the posters on the wall of your practice look like? Are they dirty? when was the last time you re-arranged them? Are they in frames (they should be)

2) How often does your cleaning staff come it should be a minimum of once two weeks. The worst thing is to smell a stinky office when you talk in the door.

3) How clean is your bathroom? I actually have people hold it till they get to my bathroom because it is sparling clean with marble floors, bronze fixtures and real lush towels. You are a DR of chiropractic a basic necessity is cleanliness.

4) How clean are you? Seems simple enough however I can not tell you the number of times I have gone into a chiropractors office to evaluate them and they were not dressed in a professional attire and did not shave that morning.

5)How old is the paint in your office? I recommend painting at least ever 5 yrs.

6) Do you have wholes in your walls of your practice? You should have absolutely NO holes the walls of your practice. Here is a crucial Marketing rule is for every hole you have insight to the patients larger than a baseball you are losing tons of patients every month. Fixing these problems should be a number one priority.

6) This is most important chiropractic posters and awards have serious marketing implications. Wall posters talk to everyone who walks by, so make sure that each and ever poster on your wall is sending a 100% absolutely clear message. Chiropractic Marketing is a art form take one step each day and by the end of the year your practice will be 365% more marketable
Sincerely,
Dr Chiropractic

Here is a nice easy way that you can do so in order to help market your practice for efficiently.

1) Look at your list of people who you are adjusting for the day. I want you to pick two people that you can do a hand off with. Many of you are asking "what is a hand off". A hand off is when you pass chiropractic information from yourselves to a patient.

2) After you have selected two people for the hand off. Start to think how what would be the most efficient way for me to pass on the information. I am always one to use metaphors: Bob, did you know your nervous energy in you body flows just like the water in a hose. When you get a subluxation in you spine it is like pinching that hose and water cant get through it. Some people like to use metaphors to examples: Such for example: Betty you are a hair dresser right. If you had your hair dryer or for 24hrs a day 7 days a week how long do you think it would take before it needed maintenance or repair? about a week right. Betty says yes, I say, " that cause I believe the universe has a general rule you can use anything for about a week 24hrs a day 7 days a week straight before it needs maintenance. If you drive a car straight how long can you use it before it needs a oil change? About a week or 3000 miles! So here at X chiropractic we believe that you should at least treat your body as well as you do you car or hair dryer.

Chiropractic Dr's do not be afraid to use this 24hr/7 rule. It really applies to almost any machine and works great for explaining to patients the fundamentals of maintaining the body because it is just really one big machine.

3) Most importantly for any chiropractic doctor is to make sure to talk from the heart. Humans are very keen. They can pick up the slightest sense of hesitation or nervousness. The key is; If you absolutely 100 percent stick to what ever it is you believe , then your patients will see it in your eyes.

4) I always will start and end a chiropractTic talk session with a compliment. It brings the conversation back to them which is really what it is all about them.

Sincerely,
chiropractic dr marketing

During your chiropractic screenings there are some vital things that you must keep in mind. During your screening I want you to think about what is going to make people come towards you chiropractic screening. What is going to make new patients want to go into a chiropractor and get a spinal screenings.

The best ideas often come from the simplest ideas: How do you draw in people through using innate sense's without them even knowing it? I want you to take a second and think back to when you were a kid. What would draw you attention to a screening and that is what using innate sense to draw people is. For example:

1) Use a large plasma screen Tv with images of people in sporting events getting injured or I even like to use those tv shows that have those contestants bouncing around going to events.

2) I use these fake pianese large flowers with pianese oil to draw on the visual and olfactory sense's of people.

3) I have all my staff in catchy tv shirts with my logo on it.

4) I have a onslaught of people at my chiropractic screenings with me because people are naturally drawn to groups of people.

Live, Love, Evolve chiropractic,

Here is the Key to Chiropractic Marketing:

Early in my career I had made a number of marketing mistakes in my chiropractic practice. Often when a marketing campaign fails in a practice the doctors say, "Oh well, lets move on". Now let me pre-frame this by saying I do not think that you should dwell on a failed marketing campaign but it is important to examine it. Look at the marketing you did and try to see what went wrong? Could you have done it better? Can the idea be save just change the tactics in which the advertising medium was applied.

Common mistakes that I and other chiropractors make is are as follows:

1) We do not put enough money into advertising. You should be putting at minimum 10 percent of your gross income back into marketing the practice.

2) Chiropractors may not be following up properly with new patients. If a new patient calls your office how long is it before they need to be seen? I truly believe that they should be seen in your office within 72hrs otherwise yous chance of that patient showing up decreases by at least 50%.

3) Do you only buy one food when you go shopping for food? Of course not. You buy different food groups, variations of food, and for different meals. Your chiropractic marketing should be the same. If you are trying to get a bunch of new patients you need to be running multiple advertising campaigns. Just like one day you may want to eat one thin and another you may want to eat something else. If a patient sees your ad it may not appeal to them, but if they see it somewhere else they may like it.

Chiropractors often think marketing is so hard but the truth is it is not so hard we just need to be trained to do it properly. That is why I often suggest people get a chiropractic coach for marketing. Because they do serious tasks for your practice which include: marketing, motivation, organization, and team building. A good coaching staff is a invaluable thing and not to be underestimated.

Sincerely,
Marketing Masters
