10 steps to not fail in practice
10 Steps Not to Fail in Practice: Your guide to keeping it together (Part 1)!
1) Sometime in chiropractic we feel like it is us against the world. We are constantly being attacked by MD’s, orthopedists, patients, and even other chiropractors. Please remember go to seminars meet other chiropractors, realize we are all in the same boat together, and others feel like you do.
2) Every person unless you are the exception has one or two patients that they do not jive with whether its personality issues, adjustments style, etc. Get rid of these people by referring them to another chiropractor you think will take good care of them. There’s no way you can provide quality service to them day after day if you are not psychologically all there and thinking negative thoughts. They will not get better as fast as they could and it puts you and your practice down.
3) Do you have a certain person working for you that you do not get along with but you keep them around anyways? I see this all the time or my favorite is the one were the chiropractor has the meanest person on earth working at there from desk just because they have worked there so long they become a permanent fixture. Just get rid of them their negative attitude, feelings, and personality reflectsporrly on you and your practice.
4) Do you loathe going to work everyday? Often times we get so caught up in what we are doing we forget to take time off. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL, I learned this from a friend who runs a major company in chiropractic. Go somewhere if even just for four days. You will feel revived and work ten fold better. Try it and your life will change.
5) Stop being a jerk!! That’s right I said it. So many chiropractors become sensitive to common questions about VBA accidents, broken backs, and surgery. Often times these questions will invoke an actual anger response from a doctor. Is there one question you are so sick of answering and you are going to pop if you have to answer it one more time? Here is a great solution make a hand out and that is the last time you will ever have to answer that question again. Think about it? How do you respond then someone puts the anger vibe out to you? Exactly stop being a jerk and put a handout together, J.
The other five things will be on another day. Remember there is a lot of information even in these five little steps. If you just do four of them you will be in a much better place.
