Often times chiropractic dr's do not know how to incorporate chiropracTIC talk into there normal adjusting time with the patient. Here is a nice easy way that you can do so in order to help market your practice for efficiently.
1) Look at your list of people who you are adjusting for the day. I want you to pick two people that you can do a hand off with. Many of you are asking "what is a hand off". A hand off is when you pass chiropractic information from yourselves to a patient.
2) After you have selected two people for the hand off. Start to think how what would be the most efficient way for me to pass on the information. I am always one to use metaphors: Bob, did you know your nervous energy in you body flows just like the water in a hose. When you get a subluxation in you spine it is like pinching that hose and water cant get through it. Some people like to use metaphors to examples: Such for example: Betty you are a hair dresser right. If you had your hair dryer or for 24hrs a day 7 days a week how long do you think it would take before it needed maintenance or repair? about a week right. Betty says yes, I say, " that cause I believe the universe has a general rule you can use anything for about a week 24hrs a day 7 days a week straight before it needs maintenance. If you drive a car straight how long can you use it before it needs a oil change? About a week or 3000 miles! So here at X chiropractic we believe that you should at least treat your body as well as you do you car or hair dryer.
Chiropractic Dr's do not be afraid to use this 24hr/7 rule. It really applies to almost any machine and works great for explaining to patients the fundamentals of maintaining the body because it is just really one big machine.
3) Most importantly for any chiropractic doctor is to make sure to talk from the heart. Humans are very keen. They can pick up the slightest sense of hesitation or nervousness. The key is; If you absolutely 100 percent stick to what ever it is you believe , then your patients will see it in your eyes.
4) I always will start and end a chiropractTic talk session with a compliment. It brings the conversation back to them which is really what it is all about them.
